Day 1: Marrakech-Imlil/Tachdirt

- After a good breakfast, you start your journey with a route into the High Atlas, where you can discover the beauty of the High Atlas, mostly far away from tourist trails. You drive into the Tachdirt valley in a 4x4. Finally, on a dirt road where no one else At lunchtime you will stop at a small gite, where a Berber family will serve you a delicious Moroccan meal. In the afternoon you can explore the area on a hike.

Dinner and overnight stay in a hostel with locals.

 

Day 2: Tachdirt – Taliouline

- Today you are also travelling in the High Atlas. You will drive a scenic route on a winding, little-used stretch over the Tizn Test Pass to Talouiline. Here you are in the saffron growing region. You will arrive early so that you can have the opportunity to explore the area on foot in the afternoon.

Dinner and overnight stay in the simple but beautiful Kasbah hostel.

Day 4: Taliouline – Agdz – Mhamid

- Today is a longer day in the car. The journey through the beautiful landscape will be very entertaining. After a short drive you will reach the enchanting Draa Valley in Agdz. You will drive along palm groves past various Kasbahs to Zagora, the “gateway to the Desert”, formerly an important caravan station, the sign “52 days to Timbouctou” still bears witness to this.

The next stop is the traditional pilgrimage site of Tamegroute. In the town, which is also known for its pottery, you can visit the 16th century Zaouia of the Nassirya Order, which has an old Koran library attached to it.

From Tamegroute we drive past the sand dunes of Tinfou further into the desert to Mhamid, the southernmost desert oasis of the Draa Valley.

Here the journey begins over sandy tracks into the middle of the nearby sand dune area, where you reach the Tfil family's bivouac. You can walk through the dunes until sunset and get a first impression of the magic of the desert. You will be served a fine Moroccan dinner served and spend the night under 1001 stars.

Day 5: Mhamid – Marrakech

- Today you have a long drive ahead of you, so it is worth getting up early. Discuss with the driver which sights you would like to see on the way back. In Zagora you have the opportunity to visit an old silversmith's workshop. In the provincial capital Ouarzazate you have You have the opportunity to get to know the Glaoui Kasbah Taourirt (UNESCO World Heritage Site), one of the most powerful Berber residential and defensive buildings made of rammed earth in this region, or you can visit the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou shortly after Ouarzazate, the journey through the Ounilatal to Telouet and the Visit the Galoui Palace there. Your driver will discuss the program or itinerary with you. Depending on this, you will be back in Marrakech a little earlier or later, where we will drive you to your riad/hotel.
