1 day: Marrakech – Ouarzazate via Ait Ben Haddou

A varied journey to Ouarzazate over the Atlas Pass Tizi-n-tichka, then on to the Kasbah Telouet, the ancestral home of the Pacha Glaoui. After lunch, a dirt road leads past Ksour and various Kasbahs, including the Kasbah Anmiter, until we reach the D'Ounila valley. Continue on the dirt road to the famous Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou (UNESCO cultural heritage). After a photo stop, we continue on the road to Ouarzazate. Check into the hotel rooms, dinner and overnight stay.

 

Day 2: Ouarzazate – Mhamid via Zagora

In the morning departure towards M'hamid. The route leads along the Drâa Valley with its thousand Kasbahs and the over 200km long palm grove. Past the cities of Agdz and Zagora. Stop in Tamgroute to visit the famous Koran library, as well as a pottery and the underground streets. . Then a dirt road leads through the palm groves of Ouled Brahim and Reg d'Elfaija. Continue to M'hamid, the last palm town in the Drâa Valley and the beginning of the desert. Arrive at the desert bivouac. Dinner and overnight stay under the stars or in a tent.

Day 3: M'hamid – Chegaga

After breakfast, visit the old Ksar of M'hamid, have tea with the locals and drive in a 4*4 over the sandy tracks to the dunes of Chegaga. Lunch under shady palm trees or tamarinds. Enjoy the sunset from the highest dunes in Morocco. Dinner and overnight stay in the bivouac at the foot of the dunes.

Day 4: Chegaga – Taroudant via Taliouin

After breakfast, drive to Taliouin on the track between l'erg de Chegaga and the dried-up riverbed of the Drâa. Along the Lac Iriqui to Foum Zguid. Continue to Taznakht, where you will visit a carpet cooperative where you will be explained the differences between the various carpets in the region. After lunch, continue to Taroudant, the little Marrakech with its red walls. Stops are possible in various villages, for example in Aoulouz. Lunch in Oulad Behil. Visit the city walls and the souks of Taroudant. Dinner and overnight stay in the hotel.

Day 5: Taroudant – Essaouira

After breakfast, drive to Tinmal, a Berber village. Lunch in Chichaoua, then continue to Essaouira le Mogadore. Stroll through the Medina, walk on the beach, visit the harbor before dinner and overnight stay in the hotel.

Day 6: Essouira – Marrakech

On the way back to Marrakech, you can stop at the argan forests and in the small Berber villages. Another evening in Marrakech, which gives you the opportunity to do some last minute shopping, eat a good meal, visit a bar with live music, whatever you feel like. .
