If you don't have time to drive into the desert but still want to take in the barren landscape, a trip to the lunar landscape of the Agagfay desert is just the thing.
The Agafay desert is located just 30 kilometers southwest of Marrakech. It is a barren, hilly lunar landscape with a magnificent view of the Atlas. This place used to be a stopover for the Arab nomads from the southwest, where they found water and food for their animals. Some have settled here, despite the dryness caused by the nearby reservoir. Tourism is giving them some hope again.
Here you can hike through the stone deserts and experience the fascination of a barren landscape.
You can also do this from the back of a dromedary.
